Financial Disclosure for 2008 City Council Candidates

At the end of the filing period on March 7, 2008, there were 11 candidates for three City Council seats: Three each in Districts 2 and 4, and five in District 6. Each of these candidates submitted a Statement of Economic Interests, which lists their personal economic interests. This form is required so that elected officials can disqualify themselves from making decisions that may affect their own economic interests.

Here are the Statement of Economic Interests for each of the 2008 City Council candidates:

The only item of note seems to be Tichy's failure to list his business, the Chicago Blues Cafe, as a business entity or trust on Schedule A-2, as Starosciak did for her business, Starotech.

Thanks Mike for implementing the spirit of the Freedom on Information act by making the information both free and easily accessible. By the way--are you having the manually scan all of these? I still contend you should be getting part of the our city's "Public Information Officer's" salary--what information has she ever publicized?

As for Tichy--probably doesn't want to list his business because it will give the city more ammo to mess with him...

Frank,

You're welcome. I think open government is important.

Typically, I pay $.10 per copy for documents from the San Leandro City Clerk and use my scanner. Sometimes, I receive documents that have already been scanned by the city.

I think that city staff would prefer to scan it and put it on the web site, as that would save them time and effort in the long run. I'm not the only one requesting these types of copies - I'm just the only one publishing them for now. When it's done by the city or someone else, I'd be happy to link to them.
