The East Bay Chapter of the California Elected Women’s Association (CEWAER), Political Action Committee for Excellence (PACE), Commission on the Status of Women – Contra Costa County, Commission on the Status of Women – Alameda County, and California Women’s Leadership Association (CWLA) are hosting a free workshop to inform and guide women through the political appointments process.
Featured speakers will be Timothy Simon, Appointments Secretary from the Office of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger; Liz Figueroa, former Senator and appointee to the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board; Scott Haggerty, Supervisor, Alameda County, and Candace Andersen, Councilwoman for the Town of Danville. Participants will learn about current local and state board and commission openings and the application process for appointment to these positions. The free workshop will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2007 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the San Leandro Library, located at 300 Estudillo Avenue, San Leandro, CA. To register, visit the CEWAER website.
