On Sunday, October 8, 2006, Paradiso and Zocalo Coffeehouse became home to wine tasting and an art auction. According to a Daily Review article, more than 200 people joined in the benefit for the Davis Street Family Resource Center that featured paintings, glass work, sculpture, photographs, and a raffle. City officials included Mayor Shelia Young, Vice Mayor Surlene Grant, Council Member-Elect Michael Gregory, and City Council candidate Diana Souza. The event was intended for a wider audience than Davis Street's Opera Night fundraiser, and it was successful in attracting a larger and more diverse crowd.
