Carl Angel, who lives in San Leandro, has collaborated on two children's books that are written in Tagalog and English. Angel is in Oahu this week, where he will read from his book Lakas and the Makibaka Hotel at local libraries. He also illustrated Lakas and the Manilatown Fish, Xochitl and the Flowers, Willie Wins, Honoring our Ancestors, and Mga Kuwentong Bayan: Folk Stories from the Philippines.
