Measure A Fails

Measure A, the San Leandro Quality Education Act, failed to pass today. According to results as of 9:55pm, there were 4686 votes (60.83%) in favor of Measure A and 3018 votes (39.17%) against. Since the measure required two-thirds approval, Measure A failed.

According to the Alameda County Registrar, there are 30,442 registered voters in San Leandro. Just 7,704 of them voted in the election. That means that the fate of Measure A was decided by just 25.35% of the registered voters.
