San Leandro Man Shot and Killed

San Leandro resident Martress Clarence Rogers, 23, was shot and killed on Saturday, November 15, 2005, in Ashland, an unincorporated area south of San Leandro. Police determined that Rogers was shot near the 16100 block of Ashland Avenue at about 4:30am in the morning after getting into an argument with the occupants of an SUV. Rogers then managed to drive to his apartment on Tropic Court, where he was found lying down by police. Rogers was taken to Eden Medical Center, where he died hours later.

Police estimated that Rogers drove 1.5 miles from where he was shot to his apartment. The distance to San Leandro hospital is about 1.8 miles.

Welcome to South Oakland! Why do certain people have so much trouble behaving, no matter where they live? Maybe Brian Copeland can explain it to us? Of course he still can't understand why there are concerns about shopping at Bayfair!
