Each year, thousands of migrating Monarch butterflies spend the winter at the Monarch Bay Golf Club to avoid the colder temperatures up north. According to the City of San Leandro web site, "Tours are conducted on Saturdays from November 6, 2004, to February 5, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., and meet at the Mulford-Marina Branch Library parking lot at 13699 Aurora Drive."
