Incumbents Rule, Except Pon

Stephen Cassidy was the only local candidate to unseat an incumbent, beating out Kenneth Pon with 59.5% of the vote for the At-Large seat on the San Leandro School Board. Incumbent school board member Linda Perry retained her seat with 53.8% of the vote.

City Council members Tony Santos and Surlene Grant retained their positions while Joyce Rutledge Starosciak will face a runoff against Mike Mahoney to take over Bob Glaze's council seat (Ms. Nardine did not run).

Measure DD barely won a majority with 50.7% of the vote and Measure EE won with 61.2% of the vote. However, Measure DD failed to pass, since it requires a 2/3 majority.

At the federal level, Pete Stark easily kept his Congressional seat while Johan Klehs handily won election to the State Assembly.

You can find the official results here.

I may be incorrect, but I thought Joyce and Mike were running for Bob Glaze's seat since he was terming out.

Thanks. You're right. I must have been looking at the wrong district number when I wrote that.
