Bay City Grill didn't last long and now the trendy chain Tapioca Express [Warning: Annoying site with noise] has replaced it. It's located at 129 W. Joaquin Ave., just west of E. 14th St. According to the web site, "Tapioca beverage is a various combination of black or green tea, milk, juice, coffee, and small marbles of tapioca (a.k.a. "black pearl" or "boba", made from Tapioca starch, water, corn starch and natural flavors.)" I've tried it and I don't like it, but it seems to be all the rage these days.
I'll miss Bay City Grill, which offered decent food and, more importantly, outdoor dining - which was great on warm evenings.
